The MIOB In Shorts Award 2026 has kicked off. Twelve European short films are competing for the prize, which is determined entirely by public vote. All films can be viewed via the streaming platform This Is Short until October 15. The selection includes fiction, documentary, and experimental work revolving around themes such as identity, memory, and displacement. Participating films include Found&Lost by Reza Rasouli, From Something to Nothing by Michael Heindl, Index by Radu Muntean, and Pvrgatorivm by Máté Gergely Kiss. In November, FilmFestival Cottbus will screen all twelve films, after which the winner will be announced during the closing ceremony.
